On November 15, our school students had the opportunity to participate in a close-up workshop on tunnel boring machines organized by the MTR Corporation, focusing on the West Extension of the Tung Chung Line project. This event allowed students to gain an in-depth understanding of the operation principles and technical details of tunnel boring machines. During the workshop, professional engineers provided detailed explanations of the tunnel construction process, including machine operation and safety precautions. Students also had the chance to observe and simulate operation, enhancing their interest and understanding of engineering technology. This activity not only broadened the students' horizons but also inspired them to think about future career paths, allowing them to experience the charm and challenges of the engineering industry.
